BERNAL in 2006
Before we started driving, I went up to the top of our house, to see the Parroquia, which is almost finished painting the top.

It was built on RED !
And I read this on
The book MEXICO LONELY PLANET in the
NORTHEAST QUERETARO STATE
Bernal
pop 5200
North ofTequisquiapan, a 10km detour west of highway 120, Bernal is a quaint, cute little town with a thriving weekend tourist trade.
The attraction is the rocky peak called Pina
It's said that Bernal's residents enjoy extraordinary longevity. Bernal's visitors enjoy lengthy lunches at the various restraurants around town, and lengthy browsing through numerous craft and souvenir shops.
The map is of this way we arrived.
A few monthes ago, some of our friends and I want to Bernal, a town about two hours for here, on April 21 (The day of Spring. That is a BIG DAY pf SPRING.
I was told to wear White. And there were a lit of people wearing white - even though I couldn't get to the center of the people. Betsy and I were about a third of the way to the (top of where all he people can get up themselves). There was a place where we couldn't get down to the 'street' that we couldn't even see.
On this April 29 we went to Bernal believing we would go to 'Cerro El Zamporano' (Elv 3280). And we drove Atono - which looke like this:
This is HIGH!
2370 meters at 3.28 feet per meters = ???
Use this without a computer, when I was in York, Pennsylvania, and I learned it, I could do it taking map tells us this is 2370 meters.
Can you measure. without a computer ??

We took this camera picture because that here - in the middle of nowhere (and maybe you are) - looks like Mexico - someone has collected the rock (in a kilometers of this section, that collect the rain/water from making the water faster to make a gully. And eventually bot being able to drive.
We asked a man whether this was the way Zamorano. And he turn it has to the right turn which looked like this (IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHERE YOU ARE. YOU SHOULDN'T BE THERE ANYWAY.
But that was the Zamorano town, and not the mountain. We found then way we should gone until ten km. later. So me want to the Colon. A very nice town.

We came back onto 'better' roads, and went into Bernal.

Just across the road is a lady selling Cactus (plural).

|
I bought this for 50 pesos. ( about $5.00 USA dollars )

|
|
Then we stopped in the stories.
|
|
Took a picture of one of the later Dr. Arturo Barrera, who sees a lot of Quixote

On the way back to Queretaro, we stopped at HomeDepot and Wallmart, and at the (Chicken House).
